New Dimensions Scholarship to Ski/Snowboard

ASA has established a scholarship program with the objective of increasing support for out-of-state, first-time skiers and snowboarders. In turn, these new participants will help develop new relationships with various recreational therapists, service clubs, support groups, and disability organizations to ensure even more participation in our program. Torrey Pines Kiwanis  Ski Scholarship Program
(For Southern California Participants)

The Adaptive Sports Association enjoys very strong ties to the San Diego community. Almost 500 San Diego area residents with various disabilities have participated in the Torrey Pines Kiwanis Scholarship Ski Program over the last twenty years. These participants are flown to Durango, Colorado where they stay with local host families, receive adaptive ski instruction for four days and participate in additional social activities while in Durango. For the 2014-2015 school year, this fund will provide a $1,000 scholarship to a full-time undergraduate student who has a congenital limb difference or an amputation and who is, or whose parent or legal guardian is, a registered friend of the Amputee Coalition. It is the goal of the Amputee Coalition through the Bridge to Ability Fund to reduce or eliminate the financial barriers to attending our national conference for new amputees.
The Bridge to Ability Scholarship provides full Conference registration, covering health and wellness education, technology sessions, special clinics and social networking, as well as lodging expenses and up to $300 in reimbursement for travel expenses.
